Pudsey and Children in Need

Ever since I started watching Children in Need every year, I’ve always proclaimed that I would stick it out until the end. Now, considering this is a 7 hour show every year on Friday nights that begins at 7PM and ends at 2AM, this may not be the wisest thing I’ve said. On Friday nights, I’m usually grouchy, tired, and wanting to disappear inside a dream and never ever wake up. Such is what the week does to me.
Promising myself that I’ll stay up for a 7 hour show when all I want to do is curl up and sleep is not a good idea. Any other day would be fine, because I seem to be permanently running on EST instead of GMT; 2AM bedtimes are usually not a problem for me except on Fridays.

Every year, I’ve said the same thing. “Yeah, I’ll stay up to watch the show!”

At 11PM, I’m already dropping off. When I wake up, it’s usually late on Saturday, the TV is blaring, and the programme has long ended. Then I kick myself for forgetting to donate, AND missing the show for another year. Last year, I missed all of the things I wanted to watch because I fell asleep at… Wait for it… 8PM. *cries*

If I had actually bothered to write out a bucket list, “Watch all of Children in Need” would be very high on it.

EDIT: Guess what? It’s 2:30AM on Saturday, and I’ve managed to watch it ALL without sleeping! *crosses off list*
Yay! In 10+ years of seeing this programme, I’ve never even come close to watching it all. And I claim to be such a party animal. >.>

Now for my second mission: “To be immortalised in song”. Any musicians listening? Ahem.

I don’t think that I could possibly watch 7 hours of ANYTHING. I have no attention span.
