I know, I am really running out of things to blog about for NaBloPoMo, and it’s only the 3rd day! Considering I didn’t blog about food at all yesterday, and the ‘$5 lunch’ challenge is 21 days long, I figure I’ll have enough time to spread it out over the month. So, this post is dedicated to cookies. They fill the ‘$5 lunch’ criteria – I know, Americans think I’m crazy for spending roughly $5 on a bag of cookies, but GBP sucks. ¬¨¬£2.50 ($4.44) really isn’t that bad for someone who has a sweet tooth and has been known to faint in various places if she doesn’t get her sugar fix. I only bought these cookies because I couldn’t find my latest addiction: G?¬? chocolate brownies. *drools* I actually want some right now…
Cookies are Food 1.0. Classic, but could do with some major improvements. Brownies are definitely Food 2.0. Shiny and with better packaging!
I can haz ur brownie? Give da cookiez 2 ma computaz.
I have a hard time articulating what I really want to say, even in this blog. There are so many things that go left unsaid, or I begin to start writing about them, but then don’t know how to continue. They sit as drafts, wanting to be finished, but I really don’t know how to.
It’s strange that I find it hard to write eloquently, considering that I never say much in real life. You’d think I’d have some words left for things like this, don’t you?
… I really didn’t mean this to be one of those poetic posts that end up sounding slightly emo as well.
I’ve never participated in NaBloPoMo before, mostly because I’ve never had a blog long enough to post something for 30 days straight (I also fell out with my blog on Vox a few years ago, so taking part on that was out of the question). Anyway, for the next 30 days, I’ll try and post something significant.
Not promising anything, though. And, knowing me, I’ll fail.
It’s worth noting that NaBloPoMo‘s September challenges are “HA!” and “$5 Day Lunch”. Seeing as I have nothing to post about today (Boo, uneventful days!), I’ll humour the NaBloPoMo community by doing both challenges.
HA!
If you don’t already know, I’m an avid 30 Rock watcher, although I haven’t seen the second series yet, the quotes already make me laugh.
Dick Lemon: It wouldn’t be a Lemon party without ‘Old Dick’!
If you don’t know what a lemon party is, I suggest you look up its’ Urban Dictionary reference. DO NOT GOOGLE IT.
$5 Lunch
I should note that $5 (£2.78) GOES ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE IN LONDON. I struggle to buy lunch with that amount!
Today, for all intents and purposes, I bought a ham and mustard sandwich from Marks & Spencer for ¬¨¬£1.25 ($2.25). OK, not looking too good on the food front… It seems I’ll be eating my way through a lot of sandwiches this month.
Drink? As I only have ¬£1.53 ($2.75) left Рno money left for my usual Innocent smoothie, I splash out on a tiny ¬£1.50 ($2.70) bottle of orange juice.
Rammi is NOT amused.
